It’s truly amazing how 60 days can literally change your life and if you have not made the commitment to start it up today, well what are you waiting for.
For those of you that have made the choice to take on this challenge let me give you some “armor” to help steel yourself against…yourself.
First off, get prepared. Not just mentally, but literally. Here are some tips:
- Prepare some pre-made snack packs. These are quick simple meals you can have lying around so when the hunger hits, boom, you are ready. Here are some ideas.
- Ziplock baggies with some chicken (think deli meat or better yet Costco rotisserie full chickens) and almonds.
- Keep some apples and oranges lying around for a quick snack
- Keep buckets of unsalted raw almonds in your home and workplace
- Throw out all the crap you keep around your home that will cause you to cheat. Frozen food, ice cream, bread, cookies, pasta. Even hide your alcohol.
- Be mentally ready for some withdrawals
- You are addicted to crappy carbs. You will possibly be cranky, fussy, and whiny for at least a week, maybe two.
- Be prepared for some low energy for 1-2 weeks
- You body will be changing where it gets its energy from, expect an adjustment period.
- Rally your circle of influence to your cause.
- You have friends, co-workers, and family you are around ALL the time. Explain to them the challenge you are taking on and get their verbal commitment to support you. Ironically, if you don’t ask and get their commitment to help you, they will unconsciously sabotage you by making fun of the challenge and tempting you to cheat. You might even be able to get them into the gym with you.
- Read and understand what is Paleo and what is not. The information surrounding this topic is massive and easily available to you, so don’t play the ignorance card.

60 days goes by in a blink. Believe me, it’s definitely something you can handle. It’s only your life and health we are talking about right?
:)
See you in the gym!
I started Friday, and I'm feeling good so far... but have definitely been more tired. 9pm is my new bedtime! So, I'm glad you said that about the first couple weeks being lower-energy. I'm excited for the challenge!
